Lately there were blasting of emails/ postings in FB/Wassap/etc informing us that wishing Merry X'mas to the non-muslim is haram. At first I just ignored them because I am not that interested with the cut & paste method of disseminating information. But when the postings come with evidences such as videos or statements from celebrity ustaz/ustazah, they get my attention.
I still remember seeing the handsome imam (sebijik Slyvester Stallone masa muda) in one of the mosques in Perth wishing Merry X'mas to his non-muslims friends with his most stunning smile. Haiishhhh...tak kan la imam tu sanggup menggadaikan akidah dia. Tak logik...tak logik.. Then I remembered beratur tunggu kedai buka untuk beli brg during boxing day with isteri2 ustaz. Haishhh...kalau wishing Merry X'mas pun rosak akidah/haram apatah lagi enjoying the X'mas offer. Apasal ustaz2 ni biarkan isteri2 diaorang buat benda yang merosak kan akidah. Sometimes I got info about Xmas sales from their wives. Tak kan lah diaorang sanggup biarkan isteri2 diaorang merosakkan akidah org lain plak. Macammana plak yang ada parents/mertua/ ipar duai still in ugama lama.Takkan lah as anak you cannot call your mom and say Merry X'mas. Haishhh...tak leh jadi ni. I have to check.
Then I found out, Majlis Fatwa Malaysia in 2007 lagi dah pun perjelaskan isu ini. In short, if it is just wishing X'mas without any niat untuk sanjung agama tu BOLEHHHH...Tak adanya kacau akidah. Nak tahu detail pegi cari kat website E-Fatwa. My conclusion, ada percanggahan pendapat dalam isu ini. Ada yang menasihatkan untuk tidak ucap Merry X'mas risau nanti kita terpengaruh dgn agama tersebut and ini melibatkan akidah. They should put it in a nice way. Tak perlulah kita meletakkan org yang mengucapkan Merry X'mas itu seolah olah mereka dah hilang akidah. Why we need to be so judgmental on others?
As for me, saya bukan pakar agama. Who am I to argue on the credibility of the appointed ulama in the Majlis Fatwa. Jadi saya mengikut apa yang diperjelaskan oleh Majlis Fatwa Malaysia. Sekian.
